Additional CTCA Tests (these are not required yet for a CHIC number): Serum Bile Acid Levels and Renal Ultrasound. The Cairn Terrier Club of America (CTCA) recommends the minimal health testing for the Cairn Terrier is : CHIC requirements (Patella, CERF, Cardiac, GCL) plus paired serum bile acids and renal ultrasound. If the dog has an existing OFA number of any type, you may submit Serum Bile Acid and Renal Ultrasound test results to the OFA at no charge. Currently, no OFA number will be issued for these tests and results will not appear on the OFA website. However, collection of the data is important to help establish incidence and protocol development once these tests are added in the future.
